  13.     Instructions for making a planetary talisman
  14.     --------------------------------------------
  15.  
  16.     1)  Decide  which  planet  the operation  falls  under.  Here  are  some
  17.   guidelines :
  18.  
  19.                Sun - Riches, honour, freedom, great balls of fire !
  20.                Moon - Dreams, religion, secrets, women's 'problems'.
  21.                Mercury - Intellect, science, writing skills.
  22.                Venus - Riches, art, love, SEX.
  23.                Mars - Reckless deeds, violence, BLOODSHED.
  24.                Jupiter - Ambition, morals, justice.
  25.                Saturn - Death, trustworthyness.
  26.                Others - what others ??

  29.     2) Maketh the talisman, using only materials sympathetic to that planet.

  37.                Saturn    Lead

  39.     It is suggested that  you employ the magic square, and  the sigil of the
  40.   spirit  (for evil  works),  or the  sigil of  the  intelligence (for  good
  41.   workings).

  43.     The rest of the design is left to the ingenium of the magician.
  44.  
  45.  
  46.     3) Now  all that  is left  is to charge  the talisman.  It is  better to
  47.   charge the talisman the  same day that it is made; in  any case, make sure
  48.   that the planetary aspects are favourable for the operation.
  49.  
  50.     Firstly prepare yourself an ink from the following :
  51.  
  52.                       10 dozen Gall nuts
  53.                        3 oz Green Copperas
  54.                        4 oz Rock Alum
  55.  
  56.     ( Mix the ingredients into a pot of water, then boil over a fire of vine
  57.   twigs (gathered  in the  full moon  of March). Simmer  for 13  minutes, or
  58.   until it has acquired a slightly  sticky consistency ). If the ingredients
  59.   are out of season then pigeon's blood may be substituted.
  60.  
  61.     Take a  piece of  silk of the  appropriate colour, and  write on  it the
  62.   names 'Adonay, Ammastius, Anareton, Cosbos, Eloym', whilst reciting Psalms
  63.   viii and  lxxi. After the  talisman has been charged,  be sure to  keep it
  64.   wrapped in this silk, else it will soon lose its efficacy.
  65.  
  66.     Perform the invocation of the Olympic  Spirit who rules over the planet.
  67.   The method is given  in full in the Isagogue of Arbatel,  in essence it is
  68.   as follows :

  70.     " O Eternal and Omnipotent God, Who hast ordained the whole creation for
  71.   Thy praise and Thy glory, as also for the salvation of man, I beseech Thee
  72.   to send Thy Spirit <insert name>, of the <Solar, Lunar ....> Race, that he
  73.   may instruct  me concerning those things  about which I design  to ask him
  74.   (or  -  that   he  may  bring  me  medicine  against   the  dropsy,  etc).
  75.   Nevertheless, not my will, but Thine  be done, through Jesus Christ, Thine
  76.   only begotten Son, Who is our Lord. Amen. "

  122.     Once summoned to  visible appearance it is sufficient to  get the Spirit
  123.   to hold  the talisman and swear  (In the Name  of God) that he  will grant
  124.   your request.  (If you have difficulty  in commanding the Spirit  then you
  125.   may employ  the sigil of that  spirit, this should be  prepared beforehand
  126.   and may be drawn on parchment in blood).

  134.   which is granted from the Creator. Amen.
